Let’s go back to your comment earlier about x-rays. You raise it again here. And why is that so important? And why doesn’t, why don’t all chiropractors take x-rays before they begin treatment? That just seems logical to me.

Ken Frederick – Chiropractor – Port Orchard, Washington

I have to admit, I don’t know why either, though I would expect that those chiropractors are making an assumption that everything is normal. I was taught at the chiropractic college I went to that more importantly, it’s critical to look for things that say, you should not adjust this person here because you could hurt them badly. And then secondary to that, let’s look at the structure and see what could be affecting this person with their complaint. So to me, x-rays are critical.

The first thing I do is I look for things that say, don’t touch this person. And the alternative would be to do light force instrument adjusting. It would still help this person, but I know that kind of technique, which is one that I’m naturally drawn to, is going to be safer for this particular patient.

Well, it makes just logical sense to have an x-ray to know what you’re looking at before you begin treatment. Again, I’m bewildered that most, not most but some chiropractors don’t do that.
