Well, you led me into, you used the word in that answer, previous answer, you used the word philosophy. And so I’d like for you to explain that a little bit specifically about your philosophy of treatment, ’cause that’s important. Let me set the stage here a little bit for the viewer.

I’ve been to a number of chiropractors over the many decades of my life. Some were good, some were great, some were not so great, and I, as a layman, it strikes me that it really comes down to their philosophy about their practice about their you know, obviously field of expertise. So, I wanted to ask you Ken, tell me about your philosophy about how you’re treating your patients.

Ken Frederick – Chiropractor – Port Orchard, Washington

Well, my philosophy is my own. There may be many chiropractors that don’t share it and have their own philosophy, and that’s great. My personal philosophy is to help somebody get better from whatever affliction they have in the shortest amount of time possible.

What I really prefer to do, what I always do, is I always do a complete examination. It’s going to be neurological. It’s going to be physiological. I’m going to take x-rays. X-rays are the roadmap for me as a chiropractor. It tells me exactly where the problem is, what I need to do. And if I just do what I was trained to do at the school that I went to, I know that the body, at least, has to try to heal itself.

So, I guess as a philosophy, I have three different, four different techniques that I like to do. And if what I’m doing isn’t working, then I have another one to fall back on and I can say to the patient, okay, we need to try something different. And this is what I’m going to do. The patient is appreciative going, okay, well, this technique didn’t work. We’re going to try this technique. Even if that one doesn’t work, I have another technique.

There have been times where I’ve just gotten a patient maybe 50% better and they have plateaued. I can’t get them any better. But I know other chiropractors that do techniques that I’m not familiar with. I will refer them to a different chiropractor.
