“Hi, Ray Hrdlicka. Bail Bond Cowboys. The question that we get asked, on a regular basis is, ‘hey, my son just got arrested after a fight with his boyfriend. And now he’s in jail. And now I’m afraid for his safety. What do I do?’

Well, the first question that I am going to ask you is, ‘what do you want to do? Do you want to bail him out, or you want to wait until his court date occurs?’ We’re going to find out when his court date is, and if you want him to stay in till his court date, my suggestion is…when I say stay, stay in jail until his court date, my suggestion is, when he calls you, ask him to be put in protective custody. Segregated situation, not in general population in the jail. Okay?

They’re going to change him out from the street clothes into a jail outfit, and he’s going to go into general population unless he says, ‘hey, I want to go into protective custody.’ He’s going to have to convince them that that’s the case, he fears for his safety, but in many particular cases, the jail is going to accommodate that and make sure he is safe. Because they don’t want any issues.

So, if you don’t want us to bail him out, and of course, that’s the easiest way to ensure that he’s safe. We get him out of that custody, get him out of jail custody. And if you call us right after he got arrested, we can get him out before they change him out of clothes, put him in general population. He’s still in booking and we can get him out real quick. Okay, so give us a call, we can get him out, that’s the easiest way to ensure his safety. If not, ask them to put him in protective custody, PC. You can see what happens up till the court date, and whether he gets released at that court date.
