Can I Go Out Of Town If I Am Out On Bail?

Ray Hrdlicka – Bail Agent – Bail Bond Cowboys

“Hi, Ray Hrdlicka. Bail Bond Cowboys. So, we get a question, on a fairly regular basis, that…’hey, my court date is 45 days away after you bailed me out. Can I go out of state and visit my relatives? Can I go on vacation?’ And the answer to that is…yes. Because in the function of the jail, when you were in jail, the jail had you in custody. And when we bailed you out, that custody was simply transferred to us. So, in the Department of Insurance’ viewpoint…all bail agents are licensed with the Department of Insurance, you are in our custody. Even though you are free to be running around, resume your life, go to work, obviously go home, you’re still technically in our custody. We appreciate you asking this, but we don’t have any problem with you going on vacation. Needless to say, we want you to be back for the court date in 45 days, but yeah, I don’t have any problem with it. So, you know, have a good time, good luck. Give us a call if anybody else you know gets arrested. Ray Hrdlicka. Bail Bond Cowboys.
