What Are My Responsibilities As A Defendant On A Bail Bond?

Ray Hrdlicka – Bail Agent – Bail Bond Cowboys

“Hi, Ray Hrdlicka with Bail Bond Cowboys.  Now the question for you as a defendant is…’what are my responsibilities?’  I’m calling you, I want out, I’m going to put you in contact with my family, with my friends, with somebody to cosign for me.  ‘But I need to know what are my responsibilities?’  And it’s actually really simple.

# 1…Go to court.  That’s absolutely above everything else.  Go to court.  Every single court date.  When you go to your court date, listen for the next court date.  When is it?  Write it down!  Put it on your refrigerator, put it in your phone.  Okay?  Put it above the visor in your car.  Don’t miss a court date.  Because if you miss a court date, we got to get involved, and we got to get you back on track.  And then there’s more costs potentially being associated with the issue if we have to go to court with you.  That’s the number one thing.

#2…you are responsible for the premium, for the fee associated with us getting you out of jail.  That’s your responsibility.  However we set up the payment plan, or if it’s paid up front.  Whatever it is, it all depends on your situation.  You’re responsible for that too.  Now, so is your cosigner, but you don’t want your cosigner to be responsible for that fee. That’s why Bail Bond Cowboys is a little different because we look for the person inside to be responsible for the situation.  Now, of course you can work with your friends or family about making the payments.  And that’s fine, of course.  But those are the two responsibilities that you have…#1 you go to court.  #2 you pay the fee.

Now if something occurs, maybe you miss a court date by accident.  You think it’s on Tuesday, but it’s actually on Monday…you thought it’s at 1:30pm but it’s actually at 8:30am.  There’s a warrant issued for your arrest, and now your next responsibility is to call me immediately, and we will get things back on track.  So, your responsibility is to go to court.  If you miss court, your responsibility is to call us.  You have to pay us for our services, our fee.  Those are very simple, they really are…okay?  Because here is what we did…we got you out of jail.  So now you need to take responsibility for that service.  Any other questions you give us a call.  Ray Hrdlicka with Bail Bond Cowboys.”
